    Factory seconds?

Stopped into my LGS yesterday and he had a couple “lower end” Guilds on the wall and I asked about them. Said he gets most of his guitars through a Tennessee wholesaler and he gets what he gets but that they have LOTS of Guilds right now. I wonder if it’s something to do with liquidating old...

    NGD GX Pilot

Well I pulled the trigger on that white GX that was featured on Online Offerings. I had actually seen it before that because I obsessively cruise marketplace and it was close to me. He described it as mint and I had to refrain from schooling a much older gentleman than myself what “mint”...

    New model?

Has anyone seen a P-250E in the wild? I don’t see it on the website but saw a listing on an auction site. Looks like an homage to a Gibson L-00

    Top dips at bridge ends?

My recently acquired ‘86 D-25BLK has some distortion on the top at either end of the bridge. It’s very hard to photograph and you have to be at the right angle to see it at all. This guitar must have dried out at some point because there is a repaired side crack, so I’m wondering if this top...

    Case era question

I ordered this used D-25 case and was wondering if anyone knew what time period it was made. “Elvira” came in a decent Martin SKB case but it closes a little too tightly for my liking, so at the risk of my wife beating me to death with it, I found this apparently D-25 specific Guild case. I...

    Let’s talk strings

I usually get my strings from whichever local shop I can, but none of them have an extensive selection. Mostly Martin, Ernie Ball Earthwoods (I like them), and D’addario. I’d like to try out something new for my recently acquired D-25 Elvira. Criteria: Balanced tension 11’s. I have some left...

    NGD ‘86 Black D-25

Ended up pulling the trigger on the D-25 I posted about. There were 8 people wanting that guitar but I was the first to inquire and they held it for me. Other than a long bottom side crack that he cleated, and a 1.5” finish crack on the other side, she’s quite clean. We have 7 hour trip home so...

    SCORRRRRE!!!!!!

I was helping my MIL and her mom clean out the garage and saw a guitar headstock poking out from under some stuff on the top of a shelf and it turned out to be this awesome 60’s Teisco Del Rey! And now she is MINE. Need to give her a much needed spa day(s) and test her out but what a find for free.

    D-25 I can afford…

Going to check out an ‘86 black D-25 on Sunday. It’s at a shop, and a major out of the way drive for me, but the price is really good. It has one repaired lower bout side crack that is only visible internally according to the owner. I’ve been wanting a D-25 for some time but the early ones that...

    D35 NT serial number help

There is a D35 about an hour and a half from me on marketplace. The seller thinks it’s between 69-71. Can any of you fine folks help me out? Asking $700 and I’ve asked for additional pics and if the action is good and if the truss rod moves. Assuming “good” condition for the age, and potential...

    Scratching my J-45 itch with a DS-240

I’ve been wanting a J-45 for years but with two kids, yadda yadda…I can’t justify the expense in good conscience. So I’ve been researching less expensive slope dred options and just ordered the DS-240 Memoir. It was down to that or the Epiphone IBG J-45. Lots more sound samples for that one...

    Guild USA Traditional vs. “regular”

In the current USA lineup are the Traditional series the only ones with dovetail neck joints? Apologies if this has been covered.

    You have to fight them?

Something I’ve heard from a couple different sources, one of them a YouTuber who is probably partially responsible for Guild prices going up. Thanks for nothing bud… What does that mean exactly that you have to fight a Guild a little to play it? Sounds like less than ideal setups to me but is...

    D-20 owners?

After years as a small body acoustic enthusiast, I want to get a dread. The D-20 in Vintage Sunburst checks almost all my preference boxes both aesthetically and sonically, at least from what I can tell from pics, reviews, and videos. The only thing I’d prefer is a “Gibson” scale length. I have...

    Mrs. GaH loves her F-20

After a months long process of having the train wreck F-20 rebuilt, I finally got to give it to my wife yesterday. She had suspicions, but had no idea about how involved this was , or the story behind it. Sorry for no big video reveal or anything, a couple pics will have to do. It has been a...

    F-20 Pickguard Poll

My rebuild project is about to be completed. The original pickguard couldn’t be used. If it was your guitar, AND you didn’t care about originality, AND you realize the soundhole is larger than original, what would you choose for a pickguard? Options, makers, and all opinions welcome.

    ‘58 F-20 case options?

I know other threads have been similar, but the links in them lead to unavailable items. Perhaps there are more recent options or someone maybe has something. Looking for a hard case with a nice fit for the F-20 I’m having rebuilt. Does not need to be some crazy expensive flight case or anything...

    THaTs A gIbSoN hEaDsToCk!!!!

Do any of you fine folks come across nearly belligerent people that insist that 50’s Guilds have a “Gibson headstock”. This has come up a few times in some of the Facebook groups. I know they are similar, but…?

    F-20 truss rod wrench HELP

Is there a wrench out there for a ‘58 F-20? If anyone has one they’d be willing to sell, or if you all can point me in the right direction for something that’ll work, I’d be very grateful.

    Neck reset difficulties?

I’ve heard and read things about some luthiers not wanting to do resets on Guild acoustics. Can anyone tell me what is behind this? Is it era specific? I’m having a 1958 F-20 restored and I want to gather as much info as I can before work starts. TIA
