After a months long process of having the train wreck F-20 rebuilt, I finally got to give it to my wife yesterday. She had suspicions, but had no idea about how involved this was , or the story behind it. Sorry for no big video reveal or anything, a couple pics will have to do. It has been a pleasure sharing this journey with you all. This is a fantastic forum. 49106873-8F94-4C3C-B345-CB8477372376.jpeg3B8E5686-0F22-4F7A-835A-C23620C951B4.jpeg

Great small bod Guild. Love seeing guitars that have shed their pickguards. too. A Hoboken holiday??
Check out my Trainwreck F-20 thread. This guitar shed more than its pickguard.

Fabulous! Mrs. GaH does indeed look happy with her "new" guitar. Adorable children, too. I'm guessing the little miss was instrumental in decorating the Christmas tree? She did an outstanding job! No doubt you'll all be enjoying a musical family future.

Thank you again for allowing us to ride along on this guitar's journey. What a wonderful ending/new beginning!

That was indeed a journey into the deep waters of reconstruction. A local shop was gifted a 39 J 35 in pieces in a cardboard box. The owner and head luthier spent over a year putting it back together. He was missing a third of the top, but found period correct top with the opposite side missing. The patched up guitar was by far the most broken guitar I've ever seen. It was also the best guitar I have ever played. Sometime after I was commenting on it to the luthier, who said it was the best sounding guitar he'd ever had in the shop. Imagine when he handed it's former owner a check for two grand out of the blue.
