The story of your first Guild

So far I guess Brad is the only one close..... Spring of 1965, downtown Lost Angeles, pawnshop row, '58 CE-100 hanging on the wall, went home with me in its original hard case. Been here ever since.

    Almost Alive!

Okay, I admit that I'm way past 10 on the Richter Scale of jealous that you have TWO M-75s, but the retired insurance adjuster in me just can't get past the tailpiece being a grenade with the pin pulled....

For those in North TX - Guild settings ahead!!!

Highly recommend anyone who has an opportunity to attend. We saw/met Mark a few years ago at (I think) the San Jacinto Plaza and really enjoyed it. Boy can put on a show. Unfortunately, we'll be motorvating west to attend a grandson's pinning on his bars after graduating from Arizona State's...

    A trio of nice dreads

You know I've got a warm spot in my heart for that 15, but, goodness, that burst is georgeoustest.

    How many coats?

I can't help you with the Hoboken stuff because I wasn't there, but I can confirm that it will take that much from a rattle can as you can't spread nearly as much as fast from a can as from a real spray rig. My experience between cans & bulk is about 3 or 4 to 1 can/bulk.

    ‘65 F30 on the way

I'm hoping it hasn't been sitting in a truck exposed to the vagarities of the weather.... Vicariously feeling your pain.

I hope it survives the trip coast to coast this time of year. Let us know what you think after you try it out.

Hey, buddy, can I borrow a clamp??

Daring to alter your guitar neck profile, properly.

That would have made it significantly harder to deal with - he didn't appear to have a very well equiped shop. By leaving it on the body it was fairly simple to clamp to the table/work bench. FWIW, I did something similar with a Mark II classical guitar that was in pretty rough shape. I have...

There's a first time for everything. I am very stinky.

Holy timeliness... First thing this morning Her Majesty opened the blinds and screams "there's a skunk running across the front yard" SkunkyTales 1) I'm sitting on the throne. Its about 4:30am. Her Majesty had an appointment with a surgeon over in Tyler(about an hour away)at 7 for exploratory...

    Like cars and trucks?

Oh, no no no. Only in so far as when living in SoCal just up the hill from Vel's/Parnelli Jones Ford, I'd go by and drool on it when it was in the showroom.

    Like cars and trucks?

The had part.... When moving to Tejas I ran out of parking spots. Yeah, I know, coulda woulda shoulda. Unfortunately, it was sold before the market went completely crazy. Weakness.... Does having 4 at one point count? That's why I turned this one into a 2by freeway flyer. The...

    Like cars and trucks?

Here's a little known combination of the Ford engine and a British sporty car, turned out pretty well: Here's the '72 Bronco I had for about 35 years (the puddles were water as I had just washed it):

    DeArmond M-75 Reverb Deal

I've got a twin to that one that is pristine, but it didn't come with a case and I paid around $275 several years ago. It would be the 2nd to last guitar I'd sell (right before the Capri). Absolutely the easiest playing piece I have. And the Gold Tones just ring & chime. Only minus is it...

    neck binding

Very likely you will have to fabricate your own or have your luthier do it. A source of materials is here: https://www.stewmac.com/luthier-tools-and-supplies/supplies/binding-and-trim/
