Ditto, saw it on TV, on an old B&W TV. It made an impression. Didn't know that was Spielberg, but go figure.

Not the best testimonial for driving a slant 6 Valiant... Dennis Weaver was awesome.
Car Flick veer time! :D

BTW, in the original early novels, Bond drove a Blower Bentley.

Not the "passenger" configuration:

But a boat-tail:

He did get an Aston Martin DB-3 in Goldfinger the novel though, originally published in '59, so that was the latest DB.

But what he really wanted for the field was a Bentley Speed Six:

So he trashed the DB-5:

He did drive a Bentley in the '67 Casino Royale, the anomaly in the Bond series (David Niven as Bond, LOL!!):

OK, gotta veer far afield here 'cause that Casino Royale contains one of my favorite movie quotes of all time, first up in this vid:

Al,

Check out the Demon's car in the series " Good Omens " .

"While the original novel called for Crowley to drive a 1926 Bentley, the miniseries employs a 1933 example, and to good effect. "

Crowley purchased it new and kept it up since then. I think the story was supposed to be in the 1980s.

Why Connery was the best Bond: His expressions while driving a Sunbeam Alpine in '62's Dr. No:

And let's not forget the Chevrolet of Yugoslavia fruit truck in From Russia with Love:

I bought a new 1978 Bronco and I would have kept it for life, but living in Chicago subs did it in with rust.

Well, I'm certainly not calling dibs! But Cosmic could bid and later be able to say he bid ("but alas, I was outbid") on the most famous Bronco - which might just still sport some of his DNA from previous drool sessions.
:cry::cry::cry: Shucks.
Missed out on Big Oly.
$1.7M and it has a new home.

Don'tcha hate losing out by only $1.6 mil?

You need to find a "Big W":

And finally, car-spotter's delight, with a highlight on Chrysler/Plymouth (and dig the '54 'Vette on the street in '63 at the start):

Earlier in the film, Johnathan Winters shows us what he really thinks of gas stations:

I saw that movie as a kid in the drive-in. The end gave me the creeps! All those people flying off the hook and ladder truck to their doom. Even then, I knew they should have died, but being a comedy, they just ended up in full body casts in the same hospital room.

I think they knocked a couple thousand off of that Bronco in Ft. Worth that I've been drooling over! Now at just under $28K they're practically giving it away!

It's a fine looking truck, but I think it would look even better with me driving it! ;)

It's only money Cynthia, and you only live once. Buy it.
Really. You can always sleep in your Bronco but you can't drive your house.

Another obscure movie car, Green Hornet's 1937 Lincoln Zephyr "Black Beauty" from the 1940 movie serial at "full chat" as David Niven would say:

Factory V-12 tuned by Kato to yield 200mph.....corners at slightly less.

Speaking of "Black Beauty", you heard of "La Voiture Noire"?
If you thought 1 mil and change often seen at Mecum was a lot of dough for a car, try 19 mil 🥴

Excellent advice. And money is no good until you spend it! Alas it is not to be at present.

However I am currently considering trying to get the one we have running which could be a big hoot in that I'll be trying to do it myself with the help of my son. I cannot think of a better example of the blind leading the blind! If we are unsuccessful, or end up abandoning the project, we'll be none the worse for the wear, may even learn something in the process, and no harm will have been done since the Bronco doesn't run now anyway. What are we going to do, break it?
