Here's a nice shot of the Cactus Blossoms playing here in Mpls with a cool old 50s Guild. But is it an F40 or an F30 with upgraded neck!?! The binding and fret markers say F40 but the body looks smaller like an F30. Maybe he's just a really big guy. If you haven't seen or heard them these two brothers are great; really good harmonies.

Really?

I have no knoledge - but the body of Guild looks quite small compared to the other guitar.
And since the peghead of Guild is in front of D-players upper arm - it can not be perspective misunderstanding either.

I don't remember how I came across The Innocence Mission, but their Glow album reached my soul. Like Nanci Griffith, the voice of TIM singer Karen Peris won't appeal to a lot of ears, but this album is fantastic. In this pic TIM plays in-house on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts, with Mike Bitts playing a Guild bass. Innocence Mission Dec 2018 NPR Tiny Desk ConcertGuildInnocenceMissionNPR.jpg

Long time fan of The Innocence Mission and I love Karin's voice. She has also been seen playing a Guild Mark I.

Nice to hear the love for TIM! Karen's voice, to me, harks back to those innocent days of childhood, a place I spend an embarrassing amount of time as I approach my 70th year. And the lovely decoration of the electric guitar and piano and other accompaniment is calming and settling. Not that they don't rock it out a bit, but you can heat the space between the instruments which makes for a superb production of the album/CD.

Ben Orr of The Cars was one of the first bassists I saw using a Pilot...Then Alec John Such
really brought them to my attention - he had such an incredible assortment of Pilots and Flying Stars...

Anytime I see someone playing "my" guitar...it stands out and you don't soon forget it...especially when you've rarely seen anyone play one.

From my Dick Clark Caravan of Stars tour program from 1966....The Distant Cousins.

The guy playing the sweet Slim Jim Guild, is Lawrence Russell Brown. Who?? Only a guy that has written songs selling 1/2 a billion copies.

And no, I don't own that program for that. I happen to be a big Led Zep collector....and this program...

While the birth of Led Zep is credited w/ their first rehearsal on Garrard St, London 1968, this program documents it's conception...as Jeff Beck got fed up w/ the tour, being the only ruckus band out of the whole sugar coated lineup...and he simply got off the bus and never returned. This instantly put Page at the artistic helm of the Yardbirds and the seeds of Zep began to be sowed from that point on.

I love the center fold advertisement from the Johnny Smith Guitar Method. I will dig and post it when I locate it.

My favorite-picture of an artist playing Guild - I have been searching for it for years - I've seen it in a music magazine 40+ years ago - and foolishly did not save it - I was there when it was taken - it was my F512 - swedish pop-musician Harpo, who's most successful song was "Movie Star" was sitting on a couch @ Finnvox recording studios where I was working when he passed by on a promotion tour - they wanted to take a picture of him - but since the couch was against empty wall it looked awful - and I happened to have my F512 w me - so I pulled it out - handed it to him - they took the pictures - he handed the guitar back to me and said : "En fin gitarr - jag ska skaffa mig en sån."

The picture in music magzine turned out great - without guitar it had been bland and never published. Nobody here remembers the name of said publication - so I might have to travel to next town when summer comes - and go to national library where they have copies of all published books and magazines . . .

I like what you said about someone playing "your" guitar - I'm like that, too!

You may know this one, it's in Hans' book, but just in case. The whole album is actually great, and you can clearly hear the T-100D in every song. Barry and The Remains, a Boston band who also opened for the Beatles on their '66 tour.
