Your favorite picture(s) of an artist playing a Guild?

After years of searchin - FINALLY - someone posted me the right picture - and included data of magazin & # & year. Now I can start the search for better picture - should not be too hard, since that magazine is not super rare over here.

Ladies & Gentlemen - other fellows may enter, too - HARPO ( hit song "Movie Star" ) - playing my 1977 F512 Guild sitting on the sofa at my then workplace - Finnvox Recording Studios.





EDIT - its is not THE picture I was searching - but taken in same session. This picture was published in Jan 1981 - Harpo is telling that he is leaving music business and is going to concentrate on horses. But now it should be fairly easy to find the right picture.

Don't have the where-with-all to find and copy it, but The Boston Globe today had an older picture of
Archbishop Desmond Tutu with a group of young people sitting behind him, and very close to his right
side is the Chesterfield-headstock to a Guild very present...subscript said it was a Globe file photo.

Someone I've loved since first sharing stages with him in the early 90's. One of my favorite active artists and easily my favorite songwriter of the last 20 years. Mr Anders Osborne. In recent years he's basically been handed the reigns of being the next generational ambassador of New Orleans music (outside of the Jazz world). The way I see him is....he picked up right where Lowell George left off, from writing, to singing, to playing slide. Anders does it all.







(And in full disclosure, that album cover w/ Big Chief is the first picture I've actually ever seen of Anders w/ a Guild....but since it was there, I figured I'd give him a nice introduction anyway. )

Nice! But even in 1959 (Jan 1, 1959 in Pittsburgh) when the picture was taken they already managed upside down TRCs!
Looking at the date, with that headstock logo it has to be a late 1958 model.

I'd be the first one to tell you that if Van ever knocked on my door, I'd open it, give him a big hug, and say, "Holy sh*t I love your music!"

And then, I'd step back inside, say "get the **** off my porch" and close the door. He might just be prime example #1 of the old rule of "be careful of what you wish for when it comes to actually meeting your heroes".

From what I can see in the photos I would say a blonde Guild X-500 from halfway the '60s with a few parts changed.

Guild endorser Jimmy Wyble. I like how for the ad slick, Guild used the photo from Jimmy's album and photoshopped in the harp tailpiece. They must have given him a new guitar for the Benny Goodman/Red Norvo ad (you can see the engraving on the harp tail).
