Johnny Hallyday - that looks like an early X350 or X375 ...

That looks like a young Buddy Guy on the far right. He was an early endorser of Guild musical instruments (the amps look like Guild as well). Or it could be Muddy Waters. The other two are, maybe, Buddy Miles and James Cotton. It appears that Eric Clapton was sittin' in with someone else's band and using their gear. Cool photo!

Looks like we were posting the same time. I was trying to place the drummer and now you say Buddy Miles I think that's right, and it could be Buddy Guy, it's really hard to tell on the other guitar player.

I don't recall seeing this one in the thread. I believe that is Eric Clapton and another guitarist each playing a Thunderbird, can't find any info on where/when this took place, though.

That looks like Eric sitting in with the Muddy Waters Blues Band playing Muddy Waters' Thunderbird.

I don't think it's Buddy Guy, but the drummer does look like Buddy Miles

I wish we had a little more or a lot more clarity on the other guitarist cuz I really just can't make out enough to tell, but I'm kind of inclined to think that I don't think it looks like Muddy or Buddy really, I was guessing mostly on the context of who the other guys look to be

Was watching Muddy Waters at Copenhagen Jazz Festival, 1968. Looks very much like the same guitars. If they are, then Eric is playing Muddy's Thunderbird, black, with "Mickey Mouse" pickups. I think Luther Johnson played the other Thunderbird in Copenhagen and if it is the same guitar, then it's an earlier version with the mini humbuckers. To be honest, I don't think that it is Luther playing, but it's probably his guitar

That's what I found regarding the source of the picture:
Buddy Miles, James Cotton, Eric Clapton and Muddy Waters wound up on the same stage at Ungano’s for an unbelievable jam session that broke up at 3:30 AM and left customers staggering toward the exits.” New York City, NY. Mid-July 1969. Eric playing one of Muddy’s Guild Thunderbird guitars. Photo: KLN from the August 30, 1969 edition of ROCK"
