Fried Ipswich whole belly clams are the best! We get them here (most come from Maine) spring to fall. Not cheap, but a real delicacy!

I grew up in New England. Left there seven years ago. For much of my life I lived on the water. Upper Narragansett Bay. I got all my own seafood growing up. Many of my friends were fisherman.
My family settled Block Island, although I never lived there.
Seafood is my favorite food. Fried Clams were my absolute favorite since I was little. I miss it a lot!

Steamed Old Bay blue crabs! And nothing like fresh fried clams from a roadside stand in Maine. (https://bobsclamhut.com/) And I'll take a plate of sautéed or grilled dry scallops any day. On the turf side, a nice thick rib eye done cavemen style on the grill is hard to beat.

Tough question. If I was consulted before the meal was planned/cooked or ordered, there is a very good chance that whatever was served will be my favorite food at least until the next meal.

If we focus on meals and not just a single component, many of my favorite meals include bread, cheese and cooked tomato. So pizza is an obvious candidate but so is plain old spaghetti with a side of garlic bread. I almost never turn down a chance at fresh Maine lobster, boiled, but there some lobster rolls that just are not worth eating. Tough question. Thanks.

One of my most memorable dining experiences was at a monastery in Germany. We sat at the bar and had homemade bread, sliced fresh tomatoes, stinky cheese, and, of course, beer.

Then we went downstairs for a meal! Can't remember what we had exactly because the appetizers were so outstanding.

Probably the best meal I ever ate at was at The Chesapeake Bay Seafood Co. back in the '90's, in Maryland: All the seafood you can eat, including crab and lobster. They lost money on me and my friend.

Local chain. I ate there a lot. I seem to recall eating a lot of peel and eat shrimp. Being a creature of habit I recall alternating between a couple of entrees. I never figured out how they made their money. Maybe other diners bought sodas or other drinks.
