They show them on Amazon too but not available and no price listed... Very bizzare situation.

Guild has a visible Surfliner page now. [Edit: It was briefly visible, but evidently still under development, as the demo videos were of the Marley A-20.]

In case you have not thought about possible modifications already - here's one :

Replace the three 2-position rocker switches with 3-position 2-pole ON-OFF-ON rocker switches.
- on single-coil pups they work ON - OFF - ON-out-of-phase
- On humbucker it works ON-single-coil - OFF - ON-humbucker

One may have to open the humbucker to get access to coil tap - other than that it is an easy mod that will give more options.

p.s. - when I tried to see them @ Guild-site - I was required to feed a password - which I naturally do not have.

I like the look of this guitar and the price isn't bad. The choice of pickups seems good, but I think it might have been even better if they had used a reproduction of the Mickey Mouse pickups (even if just cosmetic) as the single coils:unsure:

Well in an amazing feat of shipping efficiency the white Surfliner I ordered yesterday, Friday, at 9am, origionally indicated a delivery by June 6th will be delivered early.

Checking morning email they now said it will be delivered early. Really early...like today!! I'll beleive it when I see it.

However it shipped out of a warehouse in Bethpage, NY, six (6 ) hours after the order was placed. So for those LTGers in the tri-state area and eastern PA looks like automatic 1-day shipping! Guess its time I get a Sam Ash credit card again. With that kind of shipping no reason to buy anywhere else!

Well...the Surfliner was delivered 26 hours after being ordered from Sam Ash at free shipping!

Based on the weight of the box the guitar must also be pretty light.
M
Poplar body, I think it tends to be a lightweight wood. Nothing wrong with that though, Guild used it for a number of their bolt on neck models back in the day.

Can't wait for the NGD!! I sure hope it's blue, but the other colors are okay too. Just not quite as cool as blue, of course. :ROFLMAO::LOL::p

Well right out of the box it was in decent playing condition. I like it! Fun. I adjusted the brige little bucker closer to the strings. Needs some action adjustment and intonation but not bad. Single coils are noise free and sparkle.

The switches are ok but the opportunity to turn all of them off is a lingering concern. I would have preferred a 5 way slide switch.

But its fun! I have a 80's cheap looking strat type Guild that isn't much to look at. Plain red paint and 3 single coil pups with a small flat bezels for each pickup. But it is the best sounding Strat that I ever played or heard! The Kahler on it is a bit awkward.

This Surfliner reminds me of it but with a little more bridge growl from the mini bucker.

I think this model would actually do well with a Jaguar type burried vibrato.

Not sure how this price point and guitar tone compares to all the competition out there but it is a refreshing sound for Guild guitars.

Dabbled about with a Guildsby. Not sure the setup with the older cutdown Guildsby is the way to go.

Sigh... I bought a blue one.

The absolute last thing (well, maybe not the LAST thing) I need right now is another guitar, but maybe it will get me to build out the photo studio area in the new house so I can start writing them up again.

Let's be honest: I'm just envious that @matsickma go to it first. :)

Just for you, man. :) Actually you're just lucky that I also love blue.

The move sucks. I got sick hard and fast, thought for sure it was Covid but tested negative, so there's been zero movement on the house in 14 days, which is how long I've been down. Meanwhile, Comcast turned off Internet in the old house so I've had a very hard time doing anything online. Thankfully I had bought a new PS5 game for one of my kids like a year ago that she never played and I've put in 30 hours of that over the past two weeks. On the upside it's a great game. :)

Today is the first day in two weeks where I feel like I might be human again soon.

And a "manual" how to operate the switches:

Unfortunatelly the graphics designer screwed up, note the real orientation of the switches vs. what they show in the "manual"!
Since when is "- = off" and "o = on" ??? Isn't that always zero and one, so "0 = off" and "1 = on"?
Proofreading those days... 🤦‍♂️

Not sure who the artist is:
EDIT 5/31: It's Sophie Giulliani.

I think the manual graphics are what the switches would look like upside down? I'm stretching
