Yeah, actually that one didn't bother me anywhere near as much as some of these crazy ladder ones. That is preferred, and always used when you dig a fresh pit to do work in.... but when a city water main ruptures, a city block has no water, and traffic is being rerouted, you have to do whatever it takes to safely get the job done asap.
