Yeah, but nobody wins in that pic. You can't get the panels off on the electrical conduits, and the flange is weakened on the pipes. Everyone should be fired.

I'd like to think that pic was taken by an inspector who told them to tear it all out and do it right this time.

What you see here actually IS a safety precaution. The steel plates are there to keep the dirt from caving in on top of the guy. The bucket is there to make sure of it. This is how you'd want it done if you were the one down in that pit.
