Played a SWEET Westerly D-55 Today...

Guys, before anybody gets too excited about "bellying tops", there is a slight amount of belly that is supposed to be built into a top. Just as there is a radius to a saddle and a fretboard. None of these components are supposed to be perfectly flat.

True about the belling top, a little won't hurt and is probably expected. Hairline cracks are much less of a concern structuraly unless they indicate that it got hot. Like I said, I'm no luthier. I think hairline cracks look cool and are expected in a 30-40 year old instrument. I'm also learning to admire my wifes wrinkles. Anyway when she takes off her bra all the wrinkles go out of her face.
