Man, I am having 9 kinds of hell with my Photobucket account tonight. I wonder if it's tied into American Airlines or the NYSE?

Anyway......a few bumps and bruises, but a very structurally sound and beautiful guitar. I love this thing.......and I hope he will too.

You're a good egg, West. I'm sure your friend will enjoy the hell out of that thing.

A very big hat's off to you, West. Is there no better feeling, than how you're feeling, doing this heart felt "Random Act of Kindness"?

Thanks to all of you, and again, you'd do the same. D30, I notice you're from Rockwall...........nice town. Pretty place overlooking the lake. My wife used to make turquoise, coral, onyx and malachite jewelry and she'd buy her supplies from a place in Rockwall......I'd tag along from time to time.

Well we drove all the way over there and he wasn't home. Tonight was my last chance for at least a week. I'm depressed.

We like it here, West.. That supply store closed a couple of years ago if its the one I am thinking of.. Sorry you weren't able to make your special delivery tonight sir.. Hang in there.. Such a wonderful guitar and an awesome gesture..

A similar story.. I was in high school and I had this Sunburst Made in the US strat I bought at a pawn shop for $300.. Rep had the wrong tag on it.. However I digress, I had to put it in the pawn shop so I could afford to pay for my car insurance.. A couple of weeks later my buddies went and got it out for me... They surprised me with it.. The crux here is I never forgot that gesture.. It meant a ton to me and that is one of the reasons I still love those guys.. Sooo when it does happen and I pray for you and him that it does, I hope he appreciates the kindness and thoughtfulness that you've put into it..

D30, Mrs. West said the name of that place was "Bally Beads".

Regarding James, I had mentioned to him on Tuesday night that I'd stop by Thursday evening. Well, I tired to call first but he didn't answer the phone, which isn't really unusual for him (you'd have to know him). Knowing it might be a while before I got another chance, and knowing he never goes anywhere, I just knew he'd be home. His vehicle was there, but he never came to the door. I'm guessing his sister who lives 20 miles or so south of him or someone else picked him up and took him out to eat or something. Heck, I even made my wife go along to take a couple of pictures.

Oh well, next chance I get.

Sadly, I've not been able to get a hold of James, who truly has become a recluse, and since he lives a bit over 40 miles from me, it's just going to have to happen when it happens. In fairness, after last weekend and having 3 grandbabies at the house, and working late into the evening each day this week, I haven't had a chance. Not sure about this weekend either.........but the day will come. A week ago, I made the somewhat of a surprise drive over there to take it to him after work, but no answer, not did he answer his phone. By the time I get home around 6:30, eat and make the drive, it's 8:00 before I can get there. Then the drive back home......and I get up at 5:00 am. Just need to find the right time. Thanks for asking Tx.

I understand trying to find the time West. Hopefully you guys can meet up when both of your schedules Gel. That way you can sit down and enjoy each others playing and company for awhile. Good Luck with it my Friend!

Second that.
It reminds me of something I did carelessly long ago when I turned down a dinner invitation from a girlfriend.
Only years later, when I was saddened over not being able to give a gift I'd spent a long time planning for, did I realize how she might have felt.
Bottom line, hope your friend is ok.
Can you get in touch with his sister to verify that, at least?
Maybe time for a welfare check from local sheriff?

There is more to this story than I can tell here Al. But I assure you, I'm working on it.

Understood. For most of us I think life is so consistently "good" we start to think bad stuff only happens in movies, and never to us or our friends.
Then life bites us right on the you-know-what, right?
Our prayers are with you.
