Unfortunately I am not going to be joining the club fellas. I got the guitar today and it looks super, the pics didnt do any justice to how beautiful it is cosmetically. Unfortunately there are some issues with the frets and fretboard. I tried to tune it up and noticed it would not stay in tune or tune at all. The bridge was also all the way down and high action up the neck. I took it to my luthier and he gave it an inspection and noticed the following
"This guitar is basically the victim of a bad fret job. Before going into this I would mention that I mean no offense to the owner(s) of this guitar and while this it may be acceptable for some players, my job is to be a perfectionist and look at everything from that point of view. At some point in time the guitar had a refret and during this process too much material was removed from the fretboard. This causes the action to be high even when the bridge is bottomed. The frets are poorly seated as well. A look towards the side shows gaps under almost all of them. They are however, secure in the wood. Frets 4, 5 and 6 actually bend back toward the nut from the G string on. This is caused from clipping the tang too short when doing a bound refret. The part of the fret not supported by tang under it can wonder as it has on this guitar. The only correct way to repair this would be to steam off the fretboard, install a new one that is thicker as the original would have been, cut new fret slots and fret the guitar. All these things add up to a guitar worth significantly less than one which has its original frets or has been properly refretted. "
not sure if this pic is clear enough to illustrate the issue but having seen it with my own eyes i can see the bend in the 5 and 6th frets.
