Question, what kind of tuners are those. I know they're not Grovers.

according to THE Book, it should have Grover Rotomatics in 72 for the S-100 deluxe. Is this one considered a deluxe?

Nope. Deluxes have the modified Guildsby/Bigsby.

i still think it should have Grovers on it though, since the other one you listed has them and is the same model, but I sent Hans a message to see what he would say about them.

Hello folks,

Those tuners are kind of rare but they are definitely original during this particular period. There's a little 'note' hidden in 'The Guild Guitar Book' on page 175 about these tuners. It's under the photo of the S-100 SC in the lower-right corner.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Okay so now we have a vintage '72 S-100 with rare original tuners. Thanks for the clarification/confirmation, Hans. Someone definitely needs to snap this up.

Maybe it was set up where BIN is eliminated once there is a bid.

All the messaging and back and forth must have caused chessnutdog to rethink his pricing. Just eliminating the BIN doesn't necessarily mean the price will be more than $750, it just means it could go above $750. People still have to bid.

I checked on page 175 of The Bible, and the answer was right where Hans said it would be...

So a deal has been made, then?
yessir, only tentative in the sense that the money I need for the purchase will be in my account on/by Weds morning if it isn't then the next person in line will benefit from my loss! but I am making arrangements for the funds to be there regardless, I am headed to the bank to tap my reserve savings just in case. This baby is mine! :D

Way to go Mojo. Congrats, and welcome to the S-100 Owners Club! :D
Thank you Thank you! This one will stay in the family even if I have the bad luck of not getting it. But now I am really off to the bank to make a transfer. It's a honor to be inducted to the S-100 owners club especially under such sweet terms! We will celebrate once I have it in my possession!

Im the seller. A deal has been struck. Thanks to all and Hans for his expertise. The buyer seems like a very nice fellow, and it appears this s-100 is headed toward a loving home...Mike

Way to go, Mike. Way to keep it in the family. It's definitely going to a loving home. Mojo, do you realize that when you add this to your signature, it'll be at the bottom. Now I know your list is in order of how you required them, but I don't think it'll sit will with us S-100 owners to see it at the bottom of any list.
