Thank you. The real goal is to get enough people inoculated so that the virus's chances of finding a new vulnerable host are drastically reduced.

The now famous "herd immunity"...

They're having some odd quirks with the distribution of the vaccine in California w.r.t. the medical community. Apparently, Stanford's staff is all up in arms about the prioritization. Anyway, I hope everyone gets it soon!

Now we should all know that some will butt in line, it's what we do. Some will get caught, some will not, never the less, nothing will happen to the ones that get caught, it's what we don't do, anymore.

So sorry for your loss Q. I hope you can get the vaccine soon!

I recently lost my sister-in-law and several friends to this awful disease.

I have no idea when I'll be eligible for the vaccine, but whenever that is it can't come soon enough. It killed my brother. I found him dead. It's been two months of hell since.

Damn dude. I'm sorry to hear that.

This is a multi-generational disaster in the making. I fear too many Americans have become desensitized watching the numbers creep up everyday on the news and won't actually take it seriously until it hits close to home - or IN their home, as it did mine.

I'm so sorry to hear about the losses in your family. We're dealing with one and it's absolutely surreal. I can't imagine losing multiple family members/friends. I don't know how else to it describe to people who haven't experienced it. It's just surreal. He had a fever on 10/24 and he was dead on 10/31. That's what happens. That's how fast it is. There is no time to prepare and no time to come to grips with your new reality.

BTW - he was 49.

FORTY-NINE.

So when I hear about the staggered vaccine rollout regime.......

It just needs to go out to everyone. NOW.

So sorry to hear this Q. So sad. Don and I are 4 weeks post positive test. Two weeks of hell and now things are getting better. A whole lot better but it had these two old guys super scared!! Wow, forty-nine.....
Damn. I hope you continue to improve. A friend of mine in California has been battling it since March. Him and his wife improve then it comes back and smacks them down again. And there are so many long term effects that we're only beginning to understand, because it's not just a respiratory illness, it's a vascular illness too. Ugh. Take care, brother ✊

From what I've read the current vaccines are at least partially effective against known new COVID variants. The virus will keep mutating, though, so we're gonna have to keep on top of it with periodically tweaked vaccines or even new ones.
