If you're a sit down player that placement can be bothersome. So, I much prefer the knobs on the shoulder. I actually have 4 Songbirds/S4CE. 2 with waist knobs and 2 with shoulder knobs They're all in excellent condition. And professionally set up. I'm actually looking to unload the waist knobs...

Really, any tech/luthier that is half decent should be able to replace it with pretty much whatever you want.

Thank you. I think I've gone through every knob set on reverb as well as some dude who has a web page claiming he has spare guild knobs and still no joy.

It sounds fine, but then again I'm probably not the greatest person to ask about that since I play an unplugged les paul or semi hollowbody most of the time. These songbirds sound loud and wonderful to me since they're acoustic.
