I just bought another Songbird, (that's 4 now, but I plan on selling 2) and it's serial # is KK002290.
I can't find that number on any of the decoders whether it's the manual decoder or the find my guitar decoder...
It looks real enough, it's a decent brown one with shoulder knobs (I plan on selling my two birds with waist knobs).
It's got the grover tuners, it's got the right font for the serial #s etched into the back of the headstock (or at least it looks right)
Sticker in the sound hole looks right... What gives? Why no listing?
Thanks

How........does.........it..........sound???????
If you are unsure of a MUSICAL INSTRUMENT'S lineage, to my mind, its most important aspect to be concerned about is the quality of the sound it produces. Strange that you didn't mention that.

Serial sounds legit. Probably '93 or '94. The published charts are incomplete and the only definitive answers come from Hans.

Only definitive answers come from Hans. Such an LTG Alpha. So true.

I do NOT know anything - my info is based on how I learned from this forum sometimes. Sellers of my Songbirds did not claim anything - at least I can not remember them doing so - the year of build is of no importance to me as long they play and sound good. So my thinking that they be 1990 comes most propably from this forum.

I'm ready to receive and accept any corrections 😍

According to the official serial number list one could think both would be 1990, but the official list is not correct...I'm pretty sure 661 is 1988, but can't say for sure if 883 in 1989 or 1990 already. So either we wait for Volume II or for Hans to correct us.

It sounds fine, but then again I'm probably not the greatest person to ask about that since I play an unplugged les paul or semi hollowbody most of the time. These songbirds sound loud and wonderful to me since they're acoustic.

I don't think there are any knock offs of the Songbird. It's really a one of a kind as far as I know. You would think there would be other mainstream brands offering something similar, even in limited run. I don't think this model was a dud for Guild. It seems to have been a successful model.
