    Theory vs Reality

I never expected guitar playing would bring me female action ... so I certainly was not surprised when that result never happened.

    Is This Seller Crazy?

This seller is out of touch with reality, at least until he encounters a buyer nuts enough to shell out the cash. Whoever does buy at that price level is the crazy one.

    Moondog Coronation Ball 3/21/1952

I met Moondog, a couple times, in NYC. Drove a taxi for several years in the early 70s. Moondog had pals everywhere. He'd stand on the street somewhere in the village. When it was time to go home, a friend would flag down a cab. A couple times it was my cab. He was a very cool guy, one of the...

    Dream cars

You're reminding me of my favorite vehicles from long ago. They were not dream cars to me. Just the coolest rides ever. I had two Saabs 96 sedans. One, a beat up '70. The second, a sharp looking '72. Looked exactly like this one: The later Saabs were cool alright, but I never met a car as...

    Dream cars

2021 Miata MX-5 GT RF. Called "a hard top convertible", cause the roof comes up, goes back and into the body of the car at the touch of a button. Targa like.

Just pulled one of the tuner pans, to check the date. "10/56" marked in blue pencil.

    Dream cars

I dream about motorcycles, not cars. Have missed my '84 Moto Guzzi LeMans III for decades. Missing the '97 Moto Guzzi 1100 sport injected that replaced it. And the last in line, a 2011 Triumph Sprint GT. Such lovely and cool machines. But in the era of cellphones and willful driver distraction...

FS/FT 50s Fender Stringmaster steel for Guild

Time for a long shot. No idea if anyone here plays lap steel. Just in case, here's the deal. I have a late 50s Fender Stringmaster D8 console steel. A double neck. Refin (and well done) to a natural finish. 22 1/2 scale. All parts original to the best of my knowledge. Blade p/u selector, blend...

    RIP Wayne Shorter

What a brilliant musician and composer he was. I first saw Wayne S. with Miles Davis, in the fall of '68. I was quickly becoming a real jazz fan, and that experience was major push deeper into the music. He will be missed forever.

    Guitar trade heaven

I love trading. Some of my favorite guitars and amps have come to me that way. As far as SGs: never had one I really liked. My first electric was a mid 60s SG Jr. Truly awful guitar. I see these fetching crazy prices and have to laugh. I couldn't wait to get rid of mine. Then had a borrowed 60s...

    Sold DeArmond S73-12

I traded for an S73-12 years ago. Transparent dark green, as in the pic of GAD's S73 above. That guitar was solid, very well built, excellent p/us. Playing it bothered my left wrist some, so I finally sold it. But oh man, what a cool instrument!

Steven Wright - this guy is so funny...and inventive...

I remember him riffing on walking the dog. He took his dog for a long walk ... all the way across Texas. Got to the border, told the dog "That's it for walks. You're done." Or something to that effect. Genius comedian.

My '98 DeArmond Starfire III by Guild.

I agree with Smiert. Dearmonds are for the most part excellent instruments. Let down in some cases by weight, and in some cases by too thick poly finish, not ideal fretwork. My first DA was an M75T. That guitar had something going on tonally. It had huge, square frets, made it not so easy to...
