Anytime I see someone playing "my" guitar...it stands out and you don't soon forget it...especially when you've rarely seen anyone play one.
From my Dick Clark Caravan of Stars tour program from 1966....The Distant Cousins.
The guy playing the sweet Slim Jim Guild, is Lawrence Russell Brown. Who?? Only a guy that has written songs selling 1/2 a billion copies.
And no, I don't own that program for that. I happen to be a big Led Zep collector....and this program...
While the birth of Led Zep is credited w/ their first rehearsal on Garrard St, London 1968, this program documents it's conception...as Jeff Beck got fed up w/ the tour, being the only ruckus band out of the whole sugar coated lineup...and he simply got off the bus and never returned. This instantly put Page at the artistic helm of the Yardbirds and the seeds of Zep began to be sowed from that point on.
