West
I've done that..
Set it all up, hit the rec button and away I go only to find that I needed to hit the rec button a second time.
Oh well, live and learn, then forget.
Thing was Graham, I know the record button was lit up.....I don't know what happened. I had tried it out a few times without a problem in the B & B we stayed at, and felt like I had it down. I think I even looked at the screen to make sure it said "record", but nothing. Y'all will have to take my word for it....Ken was great!
Instructions?

Yep, instructions, you have my sympathy West. My Zoom came with something like a 90 page manual, I made it all the way to page 60 when I gave up & took it into the shop where Red bought it. Smart Alec kid behind the counter grinned & said he had been expecting me, 30 minutes of demo helped a great deal. Well worth the trouble, Zooms's are nice units
Push the record button on the Zoom one time & the red record lite starts flashing, this is the stage where you check levels & all, push it again & the lite stops flashing & stays lit. Only then are you recording. Push record a third time, the red lite goes out & recording stops.
Replay & file management functions are in another chapter as are the instructions to select WAV format or MP3.

Great disappointment here, was looking forward to hearing Kenny rock out, but I totally understand.
