[quote="West R Lee":fx30oept]The H4 was a total flop as I thought I was recording, but wasn't.....

West

I've done that..

Set it all up, hit the rec button and away I go only to find that I needed to hit the rec button a second time.

Oh well, live and learn, then forget.

Thing was Graham, I know the record button was lit up.....I don't know what happened. I had tried it out a few times without a problem in the B & B we stayed at, and felt like I had it down. I think I even looked at the screen to make sure it said "record", but nothing. Y'all will have to take my word for it....Ken was great!

Instructions?

West[/quote:fx30oept]

Yep, instructions, you have my sympathy West. My Zoom came with something like a 90 page manual, I made it all the way to page 60 when I gave up & took it into the shop where Red bought it. Smart Alec kid behind the counter grinned & said he had been expecting me, 30 minutes of demo helped a great deal. Well worth the trouble, Zooms's are nice units

Push the record button on the Zoom one time & the red record lite starts flashing, this is the stage where you check levels & all, push it again & the lite stops flashing & stays lit. Only then are you recording. Push record a third time, the red lite goes out & recording stops.

Replay & file management functions are in another chapter as are the instructions to select WAV format or MP3.

.............

Great disappointment here, was looking forward to hearing Kenny rock out, but I totally understand.

I had posted this under LTGers, "Where Scratch Lives", but this might be more appropriate.

Click on the picture. Don, you can delete the first one under LTGers if you like.

Thanks CJ, we wish you could have been there too. It was a great time. Ken is a such a super guy, and I think he and I were unprepared for Russ' tremendous talent. Guys like Russ are the reason I practice. And Kenny, welp....anyone who can sing, play harp and guitar. Ken's got such a great list of songs that he does.....timeless.

I even think Russ' wife may have been brought into the LTG Widow's fold.

Now THAT'S funny! :D You guys are WAY too generous in your compliments. (I know this particular performer intimately, and he's really, really not that good!) (OK, cute, but not that good.)

OK, more importantly, have I totally screwed up names here? I thought Scratch=Dave?? Kenny=Scratch?? West=Jim, right?

Who the heck is Dave, then? I am really sorry, but I thanked the wrong name. !@$%*$&%* screen names, psuedomyms, and anything else that confuses this old guy. My apologies!

Ok Russ, let's see. Scratch is Ken. I'm West, Jim to some. And Dave's not here. Graham, I would have thought Cheech and Chong might be before your time.

California is David Russ, sometimes I call him Dave. I'm sure there are many other Daves here, but California comes to mind.

And what was your name again Russ? Sorry big guy, just kidding.

Pam and I went to Ninfa's for dinner this evening. Sandy said she received customer comments from the 'inside' crowd who asked if the gig could move indoors; out of the heat... I agreed to play inside, 'unplugged' on 4 July. 'Unplugged' in October Graham/West?'.
