So, Ren Ferguson's on board, they're talking with the NH staff, can Doyle Dykes and Kirk Sand be far behind?

Long way across the country for a job not making executive money and benefits. I was hoping to see them keep some production in Ct to keep those folks and do R&D or something out here. Experience and talent are hard to replace. For all I know, Ren has some guys from Gibson who would move too.

Let's wait and see. Just want to echo everyone's very excited and optimistic sentiments.

And, congrats to Ren (and I hope several other of our friends) who will bring the Guild brand to new heights under Cordova's leadership.

Wow, this is really exciting.

John, it's making money and it's a job and ..... you can't have everything. Kind of a sinister tone for such good news. We're looking for minimum damage from the business of .... business. Have some hope and ..... a good outlook, okay? Just sayin...... this is GOOD news. :encouragement:

Agree Tom. Lots of people move every year for the sake of employment, and most of them aren't making executive level pay. I know if my company moved to Oxnard, I'd move there. My boss treats me well, and you do what you have to do. I also agree that today's developments are very encouraging.

True!
Ren, JT and Tim are in New Hartford right now. I had a short conversation with them this afternoon and we are all in for a refreshing change in the shepherding of the Guild brand going forward. I didn't hear one bit of conversation about 'moving units' or 'channel pressure' or any other corporate-speak. It was like talking to any other players who are passionate about building guitars and doing it right.

I think it's still too early to think about specific models that will be built out there, but they will have all of the tooling that was built in New Hartford. That's a really big deal. They are still trying to figure out which machines they want to move to Oxnard (which is likely why the deal hasn't closed yet), but I was assured that they are taking the '50's era back press for the arched-back guitars.

We spoke about the LMG events, and I think they will likely continue the tradition out in CA.

CMG will be handling all of the warranty service for Guilds.

They posted a notice this afternoon that they will interview the NH guys for jobs in CA. Awesome.

Ugh. So where is this type of info supposed to be posted? Every time news is posted it's posted in a different section. That is soooo frustrating.

That's OK Watasha.....I do appreciate all these stray posts in any case.

That is EPIC!!!!
Why, yes...yes it is.

Still early I guess but all indications seem to be that Guild is now in good hands. Really hope a good core of the New Hartford guys are intrigued by some California sunshine & make the move.

I merged Watasha's and Ralf's thread together. I apologize now for duplicate posts but it seemed to make sense.

My only intention to have it in "LTGers only" was that if we discuss persons/employees with names and about their jobs and them moving and LMG meetings and whatever I thought it is better in "LTG only" instead "on public Google" as it is now in "Miscellaneous"... I don't mind if it is here, just wanted to say why I started it in "LTG only". Kim for instance posts here because it is somehow a "closed community" I thought...

Does CMG have a larger facility than the 2500 sq ft workshop listed on their website? I would think a minimum of 10,000 sq ft will be required just to hold the equipment, then you need space for parts inventory, climate controlled wood storage, finished goods....there's probably something in the works I'm not aware of, just wondering about logistics associated with this very good news.

Ralf,
It's OK in this circumstance. I'm pretty sure the new guys are OK with this post being in the public area. I was on the phone with Chazmo last night and if there was an issue, I would have raised it.
