Great news!!
....and I heard it here first. Thanks Watasha.
^^^^Well said indeed! Very exciting news so far on the future of Guild! I'm stoaked!CMG making all of the right moves so far. This is so important to the Guild brand, you have arguably the most renowned living luthier on the planet willing to re-invest into the brand & it is huge for continuity. This is HUGE & gives CMG & Guild instant credibility. If Ren's in, I'm in!
True!
Ren, JT and Tim are in New Hartford right now. I had a short conversation with them this afternoon and we are all in for a refreshing change in the shepherding of the Guild brand going forward. I didn't hear one bit of conversation about 'moving units' or 'channel pressure' or any other corporate-speak. It was like talking to any other players who are passionate about building guitars and doing it right.
I think it's still too early to think about specific models that will be built out there, but they will have all of the tooling that was built in New Hartford. That's a really big deal. They are still trying to figure out which machines they want to move to Oxnard (which is likely why the deal hasn't closed yet), but I was assured that they are taking the '50's era back press for the arched-back guitars.
We spoke about the LMG events, and I think they will likely continue the tradition out in CA.
CMG will be handling all of the warranty service for Guilds.
They posted a notice this afternoon that they will interview the NH guys for jobs in CA. Awesome.

Just click on New Posts when you log on and you can get a better idea of what's on the table. :laughing:Ugh. So where is this type of info supposed to be posted? Every time news is posted it's posted in a different section. That is soooo frustrating.
