I am totally digging that pickguard. Is there anyone who'd be willing to scan it (with a ruler) and send me the scan?

I'll perhaps do better. When I get mine I can shadow it for you on paper and send you the outline. Would that work?

Default, I don't get mine for another week or two, so you're killing me! Very sweet indeed!

Beauty! I particularly like the inlays and the flamey back - nice! And I love your amp, too!

Having seen this guitar in person at LMG III I am blown away with it's beauty, craftsmanship and sound. Many happy days to you!

Which one do you prefer out of the two Jeff? Also - are the pickups noticeably different between the two of them? (as in : does it seem like they really put in an effort to get some "Franz pickup" character into the GSR's pickups?)

I am surprised to say that I like the T500 better. The shallower body depth and shorter scale make the guitar extremely comfortable to play. Playing them back to back I really notice the body depth and longer scale of the X550P. The pickups sound similar, but I think the ones in the T500 are slightly less powerful (the Franz influence I guess) and easier to control - they don't seem to drive an amp quite as hard or overdrive as quickly. I haven't measured either set yet on a meter so I can't quote numbers.

As a point of fact, the T-500's pups are copies of the Franz out of Darren's X-150. Duncan frequency-analyzed it and that's the pup they built for Guild. Drives my Mexican Champ clone nicely. 8)

Love your x550p. I've spent about 10 yrs looking for one. Missed one by a week a few years ago. I hope we see one like it again. And one with the classic white dynas. I agree the T500 is very comfortable body thickness.

Did anyone plug in the X-180 to check out its tone? If so, how did it sound? I played it unplugged, and it felt good to me, but I had to leave after dinner, so I wasn't able to do more.

Dunno. I had my bass amp and played the SF I, but no one plugged in the X-180 to any amp while I was in the vicinity. I think default had an amp but don't recall who played what through it. I don't think any of the 'display models' got carried over to the "stage" and plugged in through the provided amps.

I brought amps, but no one was interested. Next time, I'll just set a couple up without asking.

S'what I should have done in the first place.
