Congratulations roomie!

Looks like your cargo is going to be worth more than your car on the way to LMG!

Congrats! I'm dying to hear an in depth tone report on one of these.

Also, anyone had a chance to measure the pickup specs? I'm really interested in what they have done with these.

I'm especially interested to hear a side-by-side comparison of a classic Franz and the SD Franzenstein.

I am too. I doubt they'll sound too alike though. I think the Duncan pickups will sound better than the originals. On the Seymour Duncan bulletin board, when someone asked "what's so different about these P-90s?" Evan Skopp of Seymour Duncan responded "I'd say it's the size and the shape of the covers."

Franz used more powerful magnets, which is why they could be wound to lower resistance - alnico 2's instead of alnico 5's?
Looking forward to a side by side comparison too. Have had little time to mess with it, my son was over for the evening. other junk occurred,

Frickin' gorgeous though!

Ah, Grot, you didn't get it - my bad! It was sort of a joke - I am assuming (because you are Grot!) that you are adding one to your collection when you can, then it would be number 103 for you.

Is it possible this model is not going into the museum? Too new?

Well to be honest with you there a still a lot of older models of Guilds I would be interested in before getting a new one. (Like an original T-500!)

My NGD's have been over for quite some time now as for the last four years I was laid-off, worked part time, laided off again, back part time and now laid off for good. The way things are going I'll be selling way before I'll ever be buying again! :?

I know what you mean, Grot! Once I was so broke that I had to work as a male stripper. I made my pay one dollar at a time.

That was how much I charged to unlock the door and let them out.
