Called wood smoke around here.:nonchalance:

Funny you should mention that, we got a spare the air day goin' on today. It's so hazy under this inversion it reminds me of a trip I took to LA in '73. If you were more than 5 miles away from the mountains that ring the basin you wouldn't have known they were there. All kidding of LA aside, I know things in general are probably much better now, they certainly are up here.

On the way to the job site this morning....

Strong southwesterly winds made for a quick turnaround and a short day.

Oh well, :congratulatory:

Aw Joe, ya beat me to it. LOL Great pic.

6" of snow here now gone in two days. Unrelenting rain and in the high 40's and maybe getting to mid 50's by tomorrow.

High of 56 today and sunny.

About 100 miles north east of Los Angeles and about 3000 higher. It was a lot colder about a week ago.

14 degrees below zero right now.....
Winter has been unrelenting around here so far. If it's not bitter cold, it warms up just enough to get a good dose of snow dumped on us.
Good thing I've had a big indoor project to keep me busy except for the occasional bout with frostbite when I go out to remove the snow from the drive and walks.
Hoping things don't continue like this too awful long.

We're back to normal with 45 degrees and a 300% chance of rain down here at sea level. We like to keep the snow up the road and in the mountains where the ski lifts are! Makes sense to me, but when does the weather make sense? :congratulatory:

In the Piedmont section of North Carolina (east of the Appalachians North of Charlotte) it is always unpredictable. Last night I had the windows open as the rain put me to sleep. It was 73F in my house. Almost record highs. I look out over my pond to the ripples for a clue about the next weather change. For sure it will be in the 30's and I'll have the fireplace on. This is the only place where I have many times had the heat and the air-co on in the same day.

It was a beautiful sunny day in northern Michigan today, and just below freezing so not all wet and slushy. Winter is not that autrocious, really.

An amazing New Year's Day along the bay front today. No wind, about 45 degrees, and a classic fog bank hanging across the southern horizon.

I have pics from last New Year's Day with an eerily similar fog bank in the same location.

Lovely day to be out and about....but most are. :eagerness:
