This is what the "feels like" temps are supposed to be here this weekend. They say it's supposed to be worse in the Dakotas.

CHILL010314A.jpg

Well, that artic blast has moved down from Canada, across Montana, Dakotas, Minnesota and down into Wisconsin bringing the dreaded wind with it. 30 below's not so bad, but that nasty wind will certainly make things dangerous. Warm-up later in the week..woooohoooo!:applause:

-4 this a.m. and expecting -17 by tonight. But cold is cold you know? The only differences I can see in sub-zero temps are the physiological affects on your body as the temps drop. Me? I'm staying put. You all be safe.

Peace

And now we have 37 and heavy wet snow. Yippee! :disgust:

That's the temperature we're supposed to get up to, early in the morning...... in South Florida!!!!!!!! But hopefully not for long.
It's only the second time in my 21 years in the Sunshine State (that I remember anyway) that we'll be in the 30's here.
You wouldn't believe it's going to happen though, it's nice and lukewarm outside right now.
Guess this "vortex" is gonna be felt everywhere.
Now where the hell are those sweaters?...

Careful, don't let the missus get ahold of it or she might pull the wool over your eyes.

She's the one who actually located the darn thing. I have no idea what's in the closets. But I know where my guitars are located!
(And she's also the one who educated me on the expression "pull the wool over your eyes" which I had no knowledge of, prior to your post) so thanks again for the culture!

:wink-new:

And so how do you know she told you the truth if you didn't know what it meant before?
She might still be pulling thh wool over your eyes.
Or worse even, pulling your leg!

i once dated a girl who's nickname was "the polar vortex"

Sounds like the beginning of a rap song.

Dated a girl named Polar Vortex
She used to wear electric spandex
Short little arms like a giant T-rex
something something roladex

Oh well never mind.

All area schools were closed Mon. & Tues re: the polar vortex. Schools are open today, pushing -30 when I left the house and I came upon a dead school bus a mile down the road. Another bus had just come to the rescue and picked up the kids. The driver was staying with the bus until the mechanics showed up. 10 miles from nearest town and nearest house is no less than a mile.:nightmare:
