Well, its been a couple of weeks, and I still have a hard time not playing this guitar. I'm planning on taking it in to the shop (not the one I purchased it from) next week to get a full setup/assessment done. So far there have only been a couple of sort of wonky things that I have noticed so far:
1. Neck angle is off a little bit, not a troubling amount. Probably means that a neck reset has never been done.
2. Nut is a little....odd. The nut and saddle are obviously not original (bone, not micarta), but the nut in particular has kind of a "home made" look to it, with the high B and E strings sitting really low, at least according to the gauge that I used.

I'll be interested to see what the luthier has to say.

Tone on this guitar is amazing. -- I still grin like a fool every time I play it. The aftermarket pickup looks like a Baggs Lyric -- and the sound I get out through the amp is fantastic.

Its got scratches, dings and other bits of mojo, but then, so do I. This thing just rings -- its like hugging a Steinway, I feel the tone all the way down to my heels. It's my first Guild, and I know I'm not saying anything particularly new, but its all new to me.

Eric
Gotta' get it in comfortable playing shape, Brick. Good luck! Sounds like a winner!
