I guess I'm the only guy in Texas that has never cared for the vaste majority of Willie's music. His singing has always been way too nasal sounding to me, and that bong, bong, bong....bong, bong on the guitar drives me crazy. Guess I'll get hammered by you fellow Texas boys for that one?

Talk like this where I come from is borderline blasphemy, right at the edge. Next step is intervention & if that doesn't cure the problem we do full scale exorcism.

Willie can't sing for guano but neither can Bob Dylan. Willie's written his share of the classic songs. Listen to Patsy Kline sing "Crazy" . For me it's hard not to tip my hat to old Willie.

Oh, no question Willie has been a force, and huge influence on music. It's just that most of the time, if a Willie song comes on the radio, I change the station.

The list of great songwriters and performers that couldn't sing is endless in my book. Kristoferson (sp?), Willie, Dylan, Cash, Young. All major contributors to music, but if you had heard their debut, would you have thought they would have made it?
