Thanks, and I love it, but it’s only wart to me is the excessive “tort“ in the tortoise pickguard, is becoming a pet peeve, it’s too light for my taste and I want a black one. Anyone have a resource for one?

Boneman, make a separate post for that... You could even put it in the WTB section, but tech shop would be my recommendation.

Recent banjo talk here on LTG got me to dig out my ’60 Vega Long Neck Seeger model and practice some rolls. I’m still quiet the beginner but it’s an instrument I’ve always loved and wanted to learn. For lessons YouTube is my friend. My F40 is never put away.

OK, so I have to ask - how is that suspended on an angle like that?
It’s simply just sitting on its side/end pin, learned that trick when someone showed me one day and I was like huh, I never realized it would stay like that and not fall over. Thought it was kinda neat, gravity defying and all that so I still utilize the method from time to time.

I've put my D50 Standard away for a week or so because I've recently been asked to play a couple of songs next Saturday for a fundraiser at a storied (for Indianapolis) venue. Despite my trepidations about my voice, I leapt at the chance. But then comes the guitar choice. I didn't want to play one of my Fishman Quackmasters™, and given the array of stage monitors a Baggs Lyric would surely feed back. I have a number of guitars with the K&K Pure Mini, and I'm sure the sound pros at the venue could manage the absence of a preamp, but why make life difficult for them? So out comes the D-TAR Load 'n' Lock, which I used with reasonable success at the venue last time (in September 2022). The Tacoma F40 is one of my least played guitars, and it deserves better than that.

Edited to add: which one is an F40? The answer, of course, is (but should not be): both.

Yeah I will always think the F40 of being more a GA then a jumbo .

I don't want to upset you guys - this is a fabulous forum - but I bought a new jumbo 12-string acoustic guitar last week ... and it's not a Guild.
Eastman AC330E.

It's no F-512 or 412 ... but it is very impressive and outstanding value.
Unfortunately I fell off the Eastman train . I will not question Eastman QC and beautiful woods but tonally to me they run the average gauntlet . The traditional C necks also seem to chunky for me .

That aside congrats I hope it brings years of joy to you sure is pretty . :)

Rayk,
Hope you didn't hurt yourself.
Tonal perceptions are very subjective, and unlike yours, mine of their slope-shouldered mahogony dreadnought's were extremely favourable against the Gibson j-45 at about half the cost.
And the only reason I didn't buy the Eastman was because I found a used j-45 with the mandatory Gibson broken headstock (repaired and stable) for 2/3 of the Eastman's cost.

Definitely understand the cost saving side . I am king of cheap ( self appointed of course! ) lmao 🤣
I bought the AC822 CE Fan fret took 8 months to get it and I bought the E40 TC bourgeois collaboration model w/ bear claw top . Sold the 822 amd returned E40 .

I did a comparison of the E40 / Blueridge 283A / Recording king RO328 .
The 283A won and the E40 and RO 328 followed suit .

I actually bought the 328 just out of curiosity but I still have it she’s actually still a bit to compressed with a bit of harshness but she’s Adirondack topped once she opens up she be very good ! As far as Blueridge goes well tonally I haven’t played a bad one yet . As for their laminated models I think they are the best sounding out there ! That I’ve played to date . They also have my preferred neck shape slim D there fast and comfy for me . Of course my Guilds are also good .
I didn’t care for the Orpheum C next at all though . :(

Not fan of V necks the 328 has but I can deal with it . lol

But honestly I’m extremely pleased with my Guilds tone their evenness is pleasing to the ear and extremely reliable from what I’ve played .

Over all like many here I’m sure ,I enjoy the verity of tone’s different brands offer and models . When a new tune pops as I play a certain guitar that guitar will be the one it’s recorded on . No cheating here ! Lmao 🤣

Well I guess I carried on a bit . lol sorry 😞 😊
It’s only my first beer ! 🍻
