Rayk,
Hope you didn't hurt yourself.
Tonal perceptions are very subjective, and unlike yours, mine of their slope-shouldered mahogony dreadnought's were extremely favourable against the Gibson j-45 at about half the cost.
And the only reason I didn't buy the Eastman was because I found a used j-45 with the mandatory Gibson broken headstock ( repaired and stable) for 2/3 of the Eastman's cost.

Definitely understand the cost saving side . I am king of cheap ( self appointed of course! ) lmao
I bought the AC822 CE Fan fret took 8 months to get it and I bought the E40 TC bourgeois collaboration model w/ bear claw top . Sold the 822 amd returned E40 .
I did a comparison of the E40 / Blueridge 283A / Recording king RO328 .
The 283A won and the E40 and RO 328 followed suit .
I actually bought the 328 just out of curiosity but I still have it she’s actually still a bit to compressed with a bit of harshness but she’s Adirondack topped once she opens up she be very good ! As far as Blueridge goes well tonally I haven’t played a bad one yet . As for their laminated models I think they are the best sounding out there ! That I’ve played to date . They also have my preferred neck shape slim D there fast and comfy for me . Of course my Guilds are also good .
I didn’t care for the Orpheum C next at all though .
Not fan of V necks the 328 has but I can deal with it . lol
But honestly I’m extremely pleased with my Guilds tone their evenness is pleasing to the ear and extremely reliable from what I’ve played .
Over all like many here I’m sure ,I enjoy the verity of tone’s different brands offer and models . When a new tune pops as I play a certain guitar that guitar will be the one it’s recorded on . No cheating here ! Lmao
Well I guess I carried on a bit . lol sorry
It’s only my first beer !
