I cannot say why, but I am kind of fascinated by Hoffa's vanishing and all the possible rumors of what happened etc.

Update by fox news (via NY post) where the son of the man who buried Hoffa in a 55 gallon drum barrel in a dump sit in NJ.

I am sure the NJ folks here on LTG know even more.

I wonder if they will ever dig it up to find out for sure...

Always hoped an answer to Hoffa's remains would-be found. Will be interesting to see if investigation moves forward.
I was at Ft. Riley, KS in 1972 when the "Godfather" movie was released. The first night it was released, in Kansas City, it showed to a "sold out" theater but not a person inside.

Haha. Because they're from Jersey?

yeah i figure since it's a local mystery, like GAD might know more....
even though they maintain Hoffa was killed in Detroit, then shipped to NJ.

It would be nice to solve this mystery, and it would be nice for his family to know the truth, as disturbing as it may be.

Yeah, nobody deserves that.

still Hoffa was no prince. According to reports, he had people killed for going against the Teamsters.
mobs and unions, man that has just got to be a rough life.

Wow . . . a possible buried metal object, in an industrial corner of NJ? Must be Hoffa's remains in a drum.

The GPR record on that instrument's screen (a GSSI model SIR3000, by the way) shows reflections that might represent a metal object. Would be more convincing if they showed results from a few perpendicular traverses, to indicate the lateral extent of that radar reflection (i.e. to confirm its width & length). And maybe a magnetic or electromagnetic contour map indicating that it is actually a metal object (although that could be difficult with the adjacent roll-off dumpsters).

But the anomaly looks to be fairly shallow, so a simple test pit should show what that radar reflection represents.

Grab a shovel, guys.

And the "witness" is dead. Still, another intriguing story.

the father who allegedly did the digging and burying liked Hoffa a lot and did NOT want to do it, but it was either he did the work or he would end up in a barrel too.

he finally started to talk about it later in life as the mob people he was afraid of started to die off. i still think his son is taking quite the risk in divulging all this info.

"i still think his son is taking quite the risk in divulging all this info."

Not, because he died shortly after the interview where he divulged the alleged info.

There are far too many 55 gallon drums lying around and buried in New Jersey's landscape to locate Mr. Hoffa's personal drum...if you know what I mean. In any case, whatever was in that drum before he was stuffed into it has probably "consumed" his mortal remains.

If you bury a body someone sooner or later will find it.

Which is why the wise guys didn't bury him.
