Exercise is minimal because of my spinal stenosis. I'm hoping weight loss will help this too by taking some weight off the spine. Walking isn't in my wheelhouse currently.

That makes the weight loss even more amazing (and important for your spine)! I can't lose very much weight by diet alone. I think I must have "survival" genetics that keeps the weight on in case of famine. :)

My dad has spinal stenosis and getting to the mailbox across the street and back is all he can do without support. Take him to home depo and let him push a shopping cart around and he can go much further.

If on a diuretic AND low-sodium regimen, it's "water weight", at first. I went from 170 to 135 in about a month when I started.

When I started my bike-riding a couple of months later, lost about another 5 over a couple of months.
