In the fire service, a ground ladder of that length (a so-called "Bangor ladder") would be so heavy it would require 6 to 8 men to raise, and have "tormentor poles" on either side to push it up into position, then stabilize it.

This one almost looks to me as though its three "straight" or "wall" ladders somehow attached together...

Father in law helped me trim a rather tall tree. He tied 2 ladders together with canvas straps. It was frightening.

I knew someone who lit up a cigarette in a posted "No Smoking" kids' playground area. I pointed to the sign and said that the sign said "no smoking".

The reply was, "I'm not standing by that sign".
