Wow, I knew that they pulled people from everywhere, but to be IT and humping packages?
That explains a few things.

Prolly ought to wait. Holiday's a madhouse, lots of inexperienced temporary help.

She sure doesn't look inexperienced to me, Jeff. Judging from these pictures, I'd guess it's her experience that landed her the job.

I checked my M75. It has a block starting from the bridge running back to the end of the guitar.

It is not semi-hollow in the normal sense. The upper half of the body is hollow.

Hello Mike,

Did you ever gave me the serial # of that one?

Sincerely,

Oh, I'm not doubting you at all, just surprised is all!

But I've been surprised before in Belgium - a friend of mine had been playing harmonica in a band for a year or two when his uncle noticed "he was playing through one of those Fender amps". turns out Uncle dear had a mint condition tweed bassman (a '60) - he played his organ through it at really low volumes, and it had never left the house....[/quote:3bda9]

Wow ! Did he get to buy it ? Howmuch ?

Hi Hans,

Check you email for the SN of my M75 Bluesbird like GofG new purchase.

I have made two reversable changes to my instrument: Swapped out the Guild PUPs for a set of Guild beige Dimarzios and swapped the solid black truss rod cover with a black cover with M75 scribed into it.

My bridge is the roller type with studs that drop into the hollow body posts. These are the unusual type that you described a while ago in one of your posts.

I'll try and get a picture posted in a few days.

Also, GofG, based on the pictures of the UPS delivery service personnel I am verry bummed out that Billydlight used DHL to ship me the Starfire III Deluxe.

By the way how cool is it that Grot can ask LTG for some breathing room on this and we actually gave it to him! One and only one bid, congrats Grot!

Hey Mike,
Speaking of the SFIII Deluxe. How is she? I think it nails the Duane eddy tone spot on. It can do it all I think you will find. I know you will give her a good home.
Any first impressions I'm sure everyone is dying to know.

If it's any consolation, the bass came from Belgium. Took for ever to get here, and had to wade through quite a bit of customs red tape.

Well I stumbled upon the paperwork while re-organizing over the Holidays, and the M-85 bass came from Sweden.

(Sorry to get you excited Walter) :|

Well the M-75 came in today! I'm glad I waited until after the Holidays as it got here via UPS in one piece. It was very well packed!

So, who wants to see some pix???????

As you can see, it's in very nice shape. There's three little chips near the knobs. It also looks like it was leaned against an amp a few times by the wear on the back of the neck. There's also a little wear on the back of the top of the headstock.

There's a little finish checking, but you have to inspect it under fairly bright lights to see it.

Since there's more flame on the back then the front, you have to wonder why they didn't swap them around.

Since it has bridge inserts, I would have to assume it has the block in the bottom half.

For your records Hans, the serial# is; 62203. Why do people hide their serial numbers anyway? It's not like I stole it!

Hi Kurt; what a beauty! I think people conceal serial #s to avoid real or fraudulent conflicting claims of ownership or unsatisfied mechanics liens. Given the power of pcs and software to create false documents and the frequency of theft, there's nothing to stop someone from claiming that the guitar you just bought belonged to them at one time but had been stolen.

While you have a 'receipt' for your purchase and other than forcing the seller to defend his right to sell it, you - like the rest of us - don't have anything that represents 'clear title'; no assurance from the seller that the guitar is free from any conflicting claims of ownership - like title searches and insurance in real estate.

It wouldn't surprise me if the insurance industry watched eBay auctions of upscale guitars - say anything over $2,500 - looking at serial #s for stolen items for which insurance claims have been paid. In your case, your seller in good faith could have unknowing bought a stolen guitar and sold it to you. In any event, concealing serial #s would make it harder, rightly or wrongly, for someone to say: "Hey, that's my guitar!".

Super axe! cj

Hey Michael, I just ran across an interesting fellow countryman of yours;

Katja Kaye! What a voice! Who would have thought a fräulein could sing American country like that!
