Sweeeet... Hope you got your sniper locked and loaded! It's the only way you can win a guitar auction on eBay anymore.

What I want to know is -- where did that case come from? I've never seen anything like it... and, I'm looking a guitars on eBay all the time. Would love to have a case like that for my Slim Jim.

I hope you're sitting on a fat wallet!
Of course with that sweet deal you got on your X-700 you've got leftover cash to burn.
(Though Christmas may work in my favor.)

Thanks for the welcome. No worries ~ I'm not easily offended. Just updated my profile to include my gear. Been a Guild freak ever since I got my pawnshop T-100 special last year. Now, I want every model they ever made.

Hey, I didn't realise these came with a Maple top, look cool. Good luck with the auction!

Hey Walter,

Almost all the ones from that period have maple tops. I have a similar one with a close serial number. I'm curious if it will have a similar block under the bridge as the one that I have.

Thanks Hans, now I remember having seen that pic on here before.

I guess that sounds and feels a little different than the previous versions, with that block under there.

Thank you all for clearing the decks and allowing me an early Christmas present. Of course now seeing that nobody else bid just how much did I overpay for this thing?

Actually, I've been waiting for a cherry Bluesbird to match my solid one and the bass, (seen here;)

But I couldn't let this one go by. I'm also into chrome over gold and I haven't seen many chrome hollow M-75's.

Of course with the maple top and burst finish it sort of matches my hollow M-85 bass. (seen here;)

(Sorry Frono I know I'm killing you!)

Hans, once I get it I'll pull the pick-up and see if it has the block under the bridge. Funny thing about that is there was some discussion on the auction about whether the guitar was completely hollow.

Now should I wait and have it shipped after the Holidays?

Yeah but that is a sweet matched pair so I'm happy for you.

I hope I'm around when you need to thin the herd or maybe I should just offer you a commission because your Guild sleuthing skills are much better than mine.

Nice score.

I assume you mean you haven't seen many chrome hollow M-75s!

I would think it has the block, but I could be wrong!

Hey GoG,

I can assure you you didn't over pay for this guitar. I have seen four of these over the years with the sunburst finish. The one I own, one that sold on GBase in 2006, one on a TV Advertisment with John Fogerty playing it and the one you purchased. I also saw one many years back on ebay that was a bit beat up with the DeArmond PUPs and rings.

Good deal. I am sure some of us were temped!
