I have not yet. I am hoping to not have to go down that road. I am not open to surgery.
I think it's a bit like yours, lifting heavy stuff, and with one arm at times, coupled with repetitive use of 40+ years of strumming hard etc. Probably throw in some poor posture, computer mouse work for a couple decades.

But the pain itself, kind of came out of nowhere. About a month ago. Was figuring it would go away but hasn't, so it could very well be a tear.

Thanks RB.
I'll bet they could do a steroid injection and reduce the pain and inflammation. Go see an ortho doc. Modern medicine is fairly amazing. They can help you. Why stop doing the things you love??

What if some people really were robots?
Just ask them:

1) Would you injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm?
2) Would you obey the orders given by human beings except where such orders would conflict with #1?
3) Would you protect your own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with #1 and #2?

If they answer yes to all three, they're a robot.

Tom,
Steroid injections are prophylactic medicine at best.
A close friend who beat the crap out of his body playing competitive volleyball for many years, was using Steroid injections like Aspirin to alleviate pain and swelling in his knees. He told me that the pain literally disappeared as the syringes were pulled out of the joints. However, the effect only lasted a relatively short time ( a few weeks at best) before the symptoms returned, and after going through a number of these cycles, he bowed to the inevitable and had a knee replaced. He is a few months into rehab and is walking, swimming and playing golf again.
Seeing a surgeon about permanent solutions is much better advice.

I know what steroid injections are and what they do. It might help him in the interim and give some relief. You can't do extended over time as the steroids dissolve the tendons and ligaments and cause WAY worse problems. But for the immediate future, it's a start to see if it helps while they assess. Also, he said surgery is NOT an option. Not sure why but that's what he said.

Also, most steroid injections have a local anesthetic to relieve pain of the injury and also the injection. The steroids reduce inflammation, but that takes time. It could give him some relief.

Ah...and you're assuming these robots aren't agents of Skynet?

She's not playing a Guild but she is playing a G&L Fallout. One of their most popular models.

So many boring things I have to do that I 'm trying to forget about ,which makes them worse, on the other hand so many fun things I'd like to do that I have no time for. My Jiminy Criket is telling me to quickly get rid of the chores, and spare some time for the guitar stuff...Someday I'll listen to him...
