If they only shipped.

Anyone in Reno/Sparks NV? You have about 3 min left to maybe score this US made 12 string for peanuts.

Edit: It just sold.....for $282 (plus 10% buyers premium (what the auction house makes) Still, Someone out there got a hell of a deal! 🧐 (y) A well seasoned domestic in great shape for under new Chinese prices? Hell yes! See? There's still good in this world.😘

Oh, and bourbon and dark chocolate STILL go together amazingly well. ☺️

The label and the stamped s/n match, right? Was there ever a D25 twelve string? The price sold matched a much newer off shore 12 string.

Yeah, J... there was, but the label showed that.... at least MOST of them... remember, it's Guild back in the day. Anything could happen, right?

I've gotten around 4-5 of those warnings on my cell phone this year alone. Either while at work in southern Md, or closer to home around Annapolis. It's been downright crazy. Definitely not normal!!!

Yes. D-25-12 (or D25-12). Several folks own or have owned one, including Mrs. Fro.

That serial number fits a D25/12 from 1987 according to the sometimes correct online dating chart.

The stamped serial and the label do match.

I don't know where the listing got the 1983 date from. I'd like to explain the 2-88 stamp on the headstock as February, 1988 but that means the serial number chart is once again wrong.

I'm thinking folks missed a bargain because they did not realize they were looking at a made in Westerly instrument.

It just happened to be auctioned at one of the auction houses that refuses to ship anything bigger than can fit in a small box....so it was pick up only, or I would have certainly bid on it, even if just to flip it.

They likely misread the 2-88 stamp as 83, which happens all the time w/ headstock stamps if one of the numbers only partly presses into the wood.

Yeah, they only stamped the dates on the back of the headstock starting in late 1987 and into early 88. Then they quit doing it. I don't think they even did it for a year! The idiosyncrasies of Guild are always fun!!

Related to Opsi's post... I hate it when you're working on a car and get your hands a mess and find out you're out of shop towels and can't get in the door to the house, and a place to wash your hands without slime coating the knob on the door, or, putting car gunk on your smart phone to ask for paper towels to be delivered from inside the house.
