Well in the interests of factual accuracy I must admit that I pulled my vinyl of "Blows" over the weekend and while the quote is indeed on the cover of the insert booklet, it is actually:adorshki said:Following this veer, I'm running off memory here, it's in the booklet that came with the original pressing, which I have, if not also an actual lyric, and is why I remembered it along with Taabru and Killdeer. HOWEVER, given Paul's known radical politics I'm SURE the album title was an entirely intentional double entendrefronobulax said:Well, I jump to this but I can't find any explicit statement of where Kantner and Company (a.k.a. Jefferson Starship) got the title or how "wind" gets into it. I always thought of "Blows" Against the Empire as punches or some kind of damage.adorshki said:"It's a strong wind that blows against the empire". 5 brownie points for the first correct reference.
THAT'S funny!fronobulax said:As long as we have veered to the band, Great Society...
When I was in my "all things Grace" stage I picked up the Great Society LPs...the thing I remember most was a rather haunting rendition of a song called "Nature Boy" which (unknown to me at the time) was a late 1940's hit written by Nat King Cole. To unveer, that song still goes through my head every time we discuss the finish that Guild labeled "NB" 8)
