Boy Scout knots. Know them and know how to use them.

Never tried it beore yet, but I think a regular square knot would hold pretty well on guitar strings because the tension would just tighten the knot. If the end of the knot is in the wrong spot though and poked your fretting fingers, that could really hurt

Based on the "circuit board" Strat switch, I would say its a quite modern guitar. Assuming that all the "disaster" is below
the pickguard and the guitar has not been through an external fire, I can send him/her all the parts they need, probably on my workbench...if I can unbury them! ...they can supply the wire ;)

This almost looks like they plugged the guitar directly into an AC/Mains outlet...well, it is/was and electric guitar.

I'm glad they saved the logo. Just so you can be reminded on a daily basis how much value you destroyed.

The owner may have done this in order to keep the string travel fairly straight over the nut, rather than fanning outward. Or the headstock may have been chipped or damaged and this was their way of "cleaning" it up? Who knows.

It certainly makes the guitar unique, thus discouraging theft!
