Free breakfast and free WiFi are common things motels use to differentiate themselves from their competition.

"wireless fidelity". In casual use it means wireless internet access. In the US, most Starbucks, competitive coffee shops, airports, hotels and motels offer wireless internet access either for free or at some cost. Free breakfast and free WiFi are common things motels use to differentiate themselves from their competition.

Not sure there is a correct usage yet. I was unable to find a brand name although 30 seconds with Google is hardly an exhaustive search. There is confusion because in some cases there seems to be a specific technology behind the term. If I had to be anal and precise I'd use "wireless" to refer to IEEE 801 A, B, G, and N which is basically what you use to get from your computer to a wireless access point and "WiFi" to apply to infrastructure - the wireless alternative to dial up or a cable modem or DSL line or fiber optic line. The confusion comes because a properly equipped computer can connect directly to WiFI and in some cases people connect a wireless access point to a WiFi node to provide access. (Who let the geek in? Close the door before another one shows up. And let's lobby for wireless standards E and D so that we can connect our Guilds directly to the internet using 801 E,A,D,G, B or high speed E)
Or to be "Frau'd" as in "Darryl'd".
Thankee and I am grateful to Coastie and West who passed on it. Tried to get Professor MikeMan to auction for the BB ... a certain cool guy in Michigan wound up w/ a little extra beer money.... cjJeff said:That's a fine hat !!
