The guitar is pretty, though:
and the fretboard is very thirsty.
Shore is pretty. 'specially the red G-shield.

I assume you'll humidify. I'm thinking the top must be pretty dry too, and I've been wondering if maple might be a little "thirstier" than the other body woods, causing the rest of the guitar to get a little drier, faster.

When I put my own through a humidification program a while back the results were impressive in that I have a slight bridge lift that closed up a bit. Top wood swelling under the bridge. And yeah the 'board benefited too, was a good prep for treatment afterward.

Reminds me it's about time for another treatment. :)

They are corroded strings. LOL - no idea.
OE strings were .010-.047 pb's; currently would be D'A EJ-15.

I've even strung mine with silk'n'steel tuned down a whole step sometimes, with minimal loss of volume, but I love what it does for tone. Also lessens stress on neckjoint, which I've wondered if may be a possible weak point due to the cutaway.

That 'board's magnificent, btw. I could actually get jealous. I LOVE the feel of their brand new frets from that era. :)

I forgot to update that the strings were most certainly electric guitar strings.

I am totally out of the loop then. That is quite a list. I guess I get thrown off by all your writings about guild electrics. Great articles.
Indeed they are good reviews. His review of the S-300 led to my buying a couple of those over the years.. that and I just dig the body shape.

The guy without his own GPS?

Back when GPS was new I got one for hiking. Back then they didn't have maps in them, and all you could really do was set a waypoint and it would tell you what direction to go in order to get back to that waypoint.

Idiotic rich people would buy the GPS, get lost in the woods, use the GPS and end up needing to be rescued. Up in NH people would get stranded and have to get airlifted by Search and Rescue in the White Mountains because they'd get lost, use their GPS and end up on the edge of a ravine because they couldn't figure out where the trail that went around the ravine was while the GPS told them to step out into the ravine. Others would get stranded because the battery died and they had no idea how to get back to the car.

I love GPS, but I know how to use a compass and a topographical map, too. Technology is wonderful, but it's making us dumber. Actually no - it's making stupid people feel smarter, and that's possibly worse.

Oh - and the GPS in my Acura once told me to turn left in the middle of a suspension bridge.

"Actually no - it's making stupid people feel smarter, and that's possibly worse."

Many things are doing that on the other side of the computer/table/phone screen.

OK.. back to the pretty red guitar that has a bad neck angle.

Edited a bit to keep a Mod happy.

What am I supposed to be looking for - corrosion on the contacts or holder? Perhaps the possibility that a battery labelled MAR 2006 wasn't installed anywhere near that time wasn't considered? :)
