Let's see...

If I'm playing in the living room, on the back porch, or by the fireplace, generally facing east.

On the front porch, facing south.

In the bedroom, N/NE.

Kinda depends on the orientation of the furniture, etc. I suppose up til a few months ago I could have figured out the direction of Tacoma and tried to play facing Mecca, but no longer...

The only explanation I could figure out is religious, and it would vary depending on where in the world you happen to be.

I read a fiction book on one of my recent business trips that was based on Freemasonry. The Atlantis Prophecy (or something like that). Interesting read. Went back to the founding of the nation and wound up a bit like 'National Treasure'...

I subsequently read up a bit on Freemasonry. Interesting history and background. Can't say I agree with all principles, but I like some of the moral ideologies it is based on...
