Are the window-sills stone or wood ? (Inside joke)

Now excuse me, I'm gonna set this lovely smooth set of curves that walked into my life at just the right time on my lap, and play some Tom Waits, because that's what's there.

Why do I get the feeling most everyone here has walked down this road before?

See y'all round...

Well, Dylan's 'Don't think twice its alright' usually summed up my past - though there was one I always remember and sing her a tribute with the Stones 'Ruby Tuesday'.

But then I got married and have been so now for 25 years :) (Still got my memories though)

I learned to fingerpick on that song, done it more ways than I could count... Lived it a few times too. Great song for that, it can be soft and quiet regret, in your face angry, and a thousand shades in between.

Not really right for this story, this time I wouldn't figure one second of my precious time was wasted.

Thinking maybe "Last Thing on my Mind"? Though this morning through the haze of last night I was laying out breakfast for the kids and found this running through my head...

Maybe somewhere down the road a ways
You'll think of me and wonder where I am these days
Maybe down the road when somebody plays
Purple Haze...

Used to go to White's Beach a lot, too. There was a little pub on the way there called the "Cork Room", really laid back, lots of dart boards and usually a solo acoustic guitarist performing. Someone such as yourself with such a fine Guild could command a few pesos, eh?

Not much solo acoustic down that beach now, just Karaoke (work of the devil) and bloated Australians staggering around with tiny little girls. Beach is still the same, though they call it Baloy beach now. There's better places north, and south in Bataan outside the back gate.

There's a spot just inside from EOD point where during a typhoon it runs a perfect swell, with all that forest in the background. Used to take the white water boat out and surf it whenever a storm came by, once the harbor patrol came charging out to save my life, got a little peeved to find out I was just having fun.

Chicago of course
I'm still getting over my ex and when the maudlin blues hit I reach for the Guild and a bottle of red (can't drink the scotch no more...might not be an ex if I'd quit it earlier...) and play Dylan's You're A Big Girl Now. How's that for a nice, bitter, yet really pretty song?

Dayuhan,

Welcome,

The story here is inspiring me to pursue a career as a.. Blues... Singer, Songwriter... Plenty material here for a cracker jack blues tune.

I apologize for Graham immediately veering the conversation to stone walls & window sills, he has a bit of a fetish. Still, it's an improvement on the recipie thread he started.

It's already a crackerjack blues tune... I think it's about half of the crackerjack blues tunes ever written... but one more always fits, they're all just one big song anyway.

I don't mind recipes, I love to cook... though I admit this maybe isn't quite the place. Unless we're gonna do a crackerjack blues tune out of roadkill grill recipes, which might actually be worth a try...
