    Hobo Era Bridge Thickness

Howdy Guilders! I think I'm finally going to take my F30 in for an overdue neck reset. The style bridge on these is my favorite, and mine was obviously shaved down at one point to where there's just 3mm thickness at the wings, and maybe between 6 and 7mm in the middle. Before I make an idiot...

    So- called deluxe vintage tuners

Does anyone know what exactly are the machines that come with new D-20? They look like unmarked Waverly or Grover, and have cream buttons. Thanks, boys!

    Guild Acoustic ID, Please?

Sadly, in my advancing decrepitude, I've come to asking the same questions more than once. Here's another. That lovely Guild acoustic in the video...what is it, and is that a replaced pick guard? Looks like the same size and shape as my F30...but? I also love that funky National...

P240 Transitioning! Hey, I Tried to Like It...

After string changes, saddle upgrades, and general playability tweaking, I have come to the judgement that this stiff little Asian built Guild just can't compare in a roomful of Martins and Gibsons. Even as a picnic table guitar it's tone is pretty unfulfilling, admitting it's unfair to compare...

    Guild Acoustic ID?

Is this a shade top F20 or F30 with a Gibson pick guard and SJ fret inlays, or what? I love this Everly Bros. sounding band.

    P-240 Satisfaction!

OK, I'll answer my own question. Got a good deal on this 3 yr old China girl, despite my aversion to buying Asian. After removing the wiggly loose fitting compensated saddle and replacing with my own cut and shaped bone, adding hard plastic Antique Acoustic pins, and 'real' strings, I actually...

    Parlor for Nashville Tuning?

Hey, fellow guitar geeks! Has anyone played or owned a P240 and found reasons to NOT like it. I'm looking for a not too costly small guitar to leave strung with Nashville gauge strings on. I already hate that it's MIC, so there's strike 1.

    Original 60's Bridge Specs?

Hey y'all! It might be time to work a neck job into my budget. I'll likely add a 'slab' of matched color BRW to the thin bridge bottom to get close to original thicknesses. It looks more substantial in the photo, but the wings are only a 16th of an inch, and the mid is 3/16 tall. If...

    GC F-30 Year?

In it's classic 'we offer no useful info' style, this GC F-30 looks to have the pre-70, Hoboken style bridge, but I can't guess about when it was built. Any guesses...

    More PG Hater Fun

While I've had those nasty Gibson 'batwing' guards shrink, pull and crack tops, I've never seen one pull a top upward, but this one, off my F30, finally began to reveal it's evil purpose in life. Guess it's understandable, after all, I'm also 70 and shrinking too. I noticed a lip, or hump...

    Sneaky.

I don't know how it happens, but she blew in and out of here on Friday night and I never heard a peep.

    Central Park Sheiks

Some of you older New Yorkers may remember this great band. I found their only(?) album on YT and thought I'd share.

    Hey, Boneheads! Saddle Blank Suggestions?

Howdy, guitar brothers and sisters! I have to cut and shape a few bone saddles, and wonder if you'd share a source you like for density consistency and general quality. Big thanks! Dave

Old School F-40 (not jumbo) Info Please?

Hey, Guild brethren. About the only Guild I'd like to add is a Hoboken era F-40, but I see them seldom offered, pictured, and/or talked about. Are they pretty rare in the wild? Thanks!

    F30 Nut Job

All the talk of late about old guy shoulders and fat fingers led me to the parts drawer where I pulled out a spare Martin bone nut with a hair under inch and 1/2 string spacing, and reshaped it to the size and shape of the '63's original nut, with it's aggravating inch and 3/8 spread. Just a...

    Colorado Capo

What a difference a fret makes! Got my first today, and immediately noticed the extra room on certain chords and playing positions. Intonation and string bending all good too. This design is the perfect final mod to the capo, keeping the frame out of your way. Awesome!!

    P-240 Memoir

I guess (?) this is the first true parlor sized US built Guild offering in all these years, and new, so can't ask for anyone's review. I find it strange, if true. Are M-20s slightly bigger? Not a strange thing, as Gibson never went 'parlor' either. First, I really dislike that particular script...

    Rare...and Gone.

This came by on my Reverb feed, and disappeared virtually as I was counting my sheckels. A bucket lister for me. I have to now rationalize away any possible reason I would have had to not like it, like the notorious narrow nut width, and yet...I think I already own one of the best sounding, EZ...

    Red Bear picks?

Heads-up for Read Bear nerds...they have re-booted their inventory with a good selection of styles and gauges. Closest thing to TS I've ever used. Dave
