What a difference a fret makes! Got my first today, and immediately noticed the extra room on certain chords and playing positions. Intonation and string bending all good too.

This design is the perfect final mod to the capo, keeping the frame out of your way. Awesome!!

This looks good! Having played mainly electrics, I never thought much about capos. Does this work with different nut withs?

I must be missing something...does that photo show the capo on the 3rd fret? I place my Shubb just forward of halfway on the fret, so it is actually be more out of the way than this one.

The frame is set back and the protruding blade is flat at the third fret. If you're good with your capo set back away from the wire, the you might not care about this setup or bump into the clamp.

"Most capos throw the guitar out of tune when applied. ...our unique blade design, makes it easy to place the front edge of the capo directly behind the fret. This provides solid string-to-fret contact with minimum string deflection, so the guitar stays in tune. "

I use capos all of the time. (That used to embarrass me to admit until I saw an interview with Glen Campbell where he said the capo was his secret weapon... And if it's good enough for "the wrecking crew..."

Anyway, my one gripe is how everytime I move it, I have to retune.

I can't understand why. I get the guitar back from the Luthier, it intonates perfectly... But put a capo on the second fret and bam! Out of tune.

Does this capo solve that problem for real?

I consider it a very minor inconvenience to fine tune during capo use. My experience with these has been, sometimes, sometimes not.

I've been using capos since 1968 - depending of pressure and softness of the cushion - sometimes you are ok - but mostly some fine-tuning is needed.

I'm just curious... "Fine tuning" -- does that mean a few cents, or a half a step? How far out do you generally find it between songs?

And those of you who play live, do you kick in a tuning pedal and tune between songs? Or switch out instruments?

Maybe half a cent. With a tuner clipped on, just barely off center to pitch. Maybe just 1 or 2 strings, as well.
