I’m pretty sure Guild did indeed glue in their through saddles.

I bet the real answer is "Sometimes they did, sometimes they didn't."Anyone else encountered glued-in saddles on their Guilds?

Donny you seem to have some evidence, anecdotal or otherwise, but you're making it into a hard and fast rule and Guild didn't roll that way. Maybe some they did, and maybe some they didn't. They don't glue the bridges on archtops so why would they do it in a flattop model? Not saying you're wrong, just that you cannot make it into a rule that Guild Always Did So, because they were kinda free with their changes and work habits. Hammering away at this isn't gonna help the guy with the broken bridge. I'm with Glenn, the saddle should be friction held by a tight fit. Once that downward pressure it on the saddle with a firm fit, it's not gonna go anywhere except in the case of some severe trauma.I’m pretty sure Guild did indeed glue in their through saddles.
Sir, you've got decent creds as far as I'm concerned, and in any case I keep learning new stuff and being surprised around here, so I've been willing to give your belief due respect. Like Ralf, I agree, it would be nice to hear from Hans.Ah nope no evidence, and not meaning to come off contrary. Happy to be wrong. I wish I could find some- I’m mostly thinking from design standpoint, it seems like the through bridge would have been designed to be glued in.
But in any case, I’m just seeing anecdotal comments about it online. Not sure how it could be verified however.
Happy to be wrong.
