I'll have to admit that it amuzes me to hear guys saying things like, "Well, all that bling isn't for me, I'm strickly a sound guy, into the acoustic quality of a guitar, not how it looks". I guess it doesn't occur to them that if Guild went to the time and expense of that aesthetic detail, someone along the line might have said......"Hey, what if we made them sound good too  ?"

Maybe it's the Tucson blood left in me being drawn to all the turquoise, coral, and onyx. Who knows. Yes, folks around here tend to love their Hog n Dots (D25). Mmmm...Häagen-Dazs.

Nice!

I dig some of the bling, but there's a point when it gets to be too much (especially gold - ugh). G-shields, binding, and block fret inlays get a thumbs up from me, and I have a feeling I'll break down and snag a D55 at some point. But yes, I'm quite happy with my "Häagen-Dazs." Slapped on some new strings today and it sounds sah-weet:

No custom TRC for the 72?

Actually, I'm not too big on custom covers, however, after I sent him a guitar to New Zealand, my good friend Coastie sent me the one on the DV73 as a token of his appreciation. It has sentimental value.........and it's kind of grown on me, I like it. :D

I recently switched to light gauge strings on my DV72. Sah-weet indeed. I really wish I had done that earlier. Chrome grover imperials are the best bling tuners IMHO.

Are they the big ribbed box on the backside?

A friend had the Imperial keys, but the backs looked like standard Grovers. Maybe someone just put the Imperial keys on standard Grovers?

If you're a fingerpicker, try the 80/20 lights......for a pick, I think I'd prefer the PB's......and definately check out John Pearse one of these string changes.

I'm not a big fan of the shape of them, but as long as they're not gold.

As for strings, the guy who had this D35 before had it set up for easy playing so it's lights for me as well (D'Addario PB .12's).

gold or brass represents acoustic (to me! :D ) and silver represents electric.

I do like the gold on the 72 Treem, I really do. The silver goes with the Southwest motiff. Turquoise and silver have been a matched set in the southwest forever......like peas and carrots, salt and pepper, peanut butter and jelly, democrats and spending enormous sums of money.....oh, did I say that? Again, I love your gold Imperials, just stating why I think they went with silver on that particular guitar. By the way, having said that, there is a beautiful gold pin stripe around the headstock, isn't there? :)

Yes Sir! when I got my DV72 the turners were stripped and I had to get a new set of Rotomatics. So I decided to get the gold rotomatic turners to compliment the 2 stripes of maple around the headstock. I do like the silver tuners but went with gold to show different angle of beauty of the DV72. :D

PS. The serial number was stamped pretty hard on the back of the headstock. :D
