We used to see them from time to time stclrob, but I haven't seen one in a while. I guess we should keep in mind that there were only 50 built, but you know, a few years ago, I could have told you where about 6 or 7 of them were. About 3 guys here on LTG have them.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that there are only 50. I've seen a few DV72s, D100s, a JF100, and a few peacocks but never one of these.

If you're interested, I'll be on the lookout?

Y'know, generally I wouldn't consider a guitar that "beyond my raisin'," but since it's a Guild I will admit I really like it!

That it's unique and unattainable (by me, at this juncture), means I can safety appreciate (read: lust) it!

Black sparkle Starfire Four.

Yes, it shouts that this Emperor has no clothes, musically speaking, but I'd be willing to risk it.

Westerly era DV6. An absolutely fantastic & highly underrated guitar.

after having a couple GADS--6 & 12 string, & they were excellent, i might add,
my Westerly DV6 outshines even the Martin D18 that it replaced. this is my keeper.
BUTT--many years ago i test drove a grand concert sized model that had a nice wide fingerboard
& a kinda chubby neck. no idea what model it was, but i shoulda got it when the shop had it & i had the cash. couldashouldawoulda :(

Don't know that I've ever seen a DV72 in burst Treem, but I have seen them with inlay other than turquoise. I found one in a Dallas shop with malachite inlay.......strikingly beautiful green stone, I had to verify it with Hans. It was desiganted a DV72XXXMK. Hans told me at that they had used various inlay material on them. No telling what's out there.

Doh!

It's not mine though..couple years ago a guy came through the forum looking to sell this one, and he sent me the pics. Mine is a natural top. The sunburst is just a little gaudy.

She's so "gaudy" I'd love to have her. But that's just me......I don't care how bad they sound, just like 'em gaudy! In fact, if my DV's had sounded good, I'd have probably gotten rid of them.

There ya go Rob, she might still be out there......pretty gaudy though! Funny how folks perspectives differ, I suppose "gaudy" and "bling" might be some of the more subjective terms I've heard. Some of us see those appointments as just plain old beauty. Man, those things are the most beautiful guitars I've ever laid eyes on, and all kidding aside, the best sounding. A lot of craftsmanship and design beauty along with some tremedous acoustics that are second to none.

I'll have to admit that it amuzes me to hear guys saying things like, "Well, all that bling isn't for me, I'm strickly a sound guy, into the acoustic quality of a guitar, not how it looks". I guess it doesn't occur to them that if Guild went to the time and expense of that aesthetic detail, someone along the line might have said......"Hey, what if we made them sound good too  ?"

Oh and I like your DV52 too Marc.......fine looking specimen.

 No sir, I haven't played anyplace that I needed a gun or a knife yet, just the occasional nursing home, book store and LTG gathering and amongst friends. I don't know, I suppose the nursing home crowd may get out of hand one day......it can get pretty wild in there with them. I agree that sometimes there is something about a guitar that talks to you......the DV's screamed at me

Being from the suburb of a metropolis of 4000, we often find ourselves trying to keep up with the Hatfields and McCoys which explains the binge for bling. Being the blingster that I am, I even wore my dress tee shirt to the annual Yamboree tater festival last year. Ever given the right time and situation, I fully intend to score the blingiest of them all, the most gaudicious ever built....a D100.......Deco wouldn't be bad either.

Gotta love'm all.
