RIP to one of my guitar heroes and a fine human being.
I'll add to what someone already said about his version of Just Like a Woman....simply the best.
That 'Homespun' Instructional DVD he made some years ago.....is a real treat. Like a private lesson with the man.....and great to watch just for looking in on the chat with him, his relaxed and humble manner, his history, his insights, and for the wonderful songs he plays.

What a great man.
I'll be playing his music here today........and wishing him well on his journey.
The first thing I thought of when I heard this on the way home tonight was "Here comes the sun" as the sun was big and orange getting ready for twilight.
Just saw this news. Richie made music his own way and he'll be remembered for it always. He could make that D40 sing and you never confused his distinctive voice with anyone else.

This has to be one of my favorites, The makings of you....
This used to bring me to tears, thinking of my daughter, after we were separated.... The most beautiful love song in my eyes.....
Yeah, sitting here feeling a wave of sadness come over me then this kind of technicolor image of Richie comes into my mind, he's wearing a kind of green African type shirt with yellow patterns around the neck and he's smiling and saying, 'Don't be sad, rejoice...and with a wave of his hand as if to generalize the world out there, continued there is so much to be happy about...' maybe this wasn't imagined, either way thanks Richie..you are so right.
